Raise Against The Clock

Raise Against The Clock is a sport in which the dead are resurrected within a time limit.

Summary

The victim is pushed off the top of a tower block. When the victim hits the ground and dies, the corpse is placed in the lift along with a voodoo priest. As the lift ascends, the voodoo priest must resurrect the victim using any magic, potions, spells or trickery that may be at the priest’s disposal. As soon as the victim is resurrected, the lift stops, and the voodoo priest is pushed out of the building at that point to become the next round’s victim.

Rationale

It is in the interest of the voodoo priest to complete the resurrection as quickly as possible, thus minimising the distance he is to fall in the next round. As every practitioner of the dark arts knows, the more injured a corpse is, the harder it is to resurrect, so the quicker the priest raises the dead, the more chance he has of being successfully resurrected himself. Hence the name, Raise Against The Clock.

Legal Status

The game was banned in most jurisdictions in the 18th century due to public health concerns, but is still legal in some remote areas of the world. Following a lengthy public campaign, the sport was outlawed in Cornwall in 2002 after a chronic shortage of voodoo priests led to community witchery services becoming prohibitively expensive.

Special Variants

Probably best not discussed here. But they involve Zeppelins, bungee cord and amazingly accurate voodoo technique.
